*DUE TO CLIENT CONFIDENTIALITY THE IMAGE OF IBC INSTALLATION HAS BEEN LOWERED IN RESOLUTION*

The Client

Ricoh, a manufacturer of copier equipment and supplies, had a need for a valve system for batching toner material to bulk bags and rigid IBCs.

The Objective

The new valve system had to be easily and quickly installed and provide solid reliability and cleanability. The unique characteristics of toner material had to be taken into account and researched with complete testing.

The Solutions

ISL installed a Cone Valve Conversion IBC Station for initial tests. The ISL system was used to batch products to Bulk Bags and other rigid IBCs. During the early production trials, it was found difficult to fill the containers quickly and continuously as the displaced air took a long time to vent back through the product stream into the upper IBC. ISL solved this problem by fitting a unique vent system to the Station hopper which enabled displaced air to be vented to the factory extraction system. Integral variable flow control and valve lift capability enabled compacted material to be measurably discharged.

Summary

ISL solved the client’s problems by working closely with the user during the testing and setup phases of this project. Ricoh was pleased with the performance and successful completion of their initial criteria. The new system has proven simple to use and accordingly has obtained quick and supportive user acceptance.‍
