About ISL Technologies

Engineering Better Ways to Handle Bulk Solids

For more than three decades, ISL Technologies has been developing solutions for the storage, transfer, discharge, dosing and blending of powders, particulates and granular materials.

Built around our patented Cone Valve Technology, we engineer IBC systems that give manufacturers greater control over material flow, containment, hygiene and process efficiency.

Our Story

From Bulk Material Challenges to Engineered Solutions

Handling powders and bulk solids is rarely as simple as moving material from one point to another.

Flow characteristics change. Materials can bridge, rat-hole, or segregate. Conventional valves can make it difficult to control discharge. Cleaning can introduce downtime. And when multiple ingredients are involved, maintaining batch integrity becomes even more important.

ISL Technologies was built around solving these challenges.

Our expertise begins where raw materials exist as powders, particulates, tablets or granular materials. We develop IBC systems and process equipment that help manufacturers store, move, discharge, dose and blend these materials in a more controlled and systematic way.

At the centre of our approach is our patented Cone Valve Technology — a technology designed to control material flow directly from the bulk store while maintaining containment and reducing common flow problems associated with conventional discharge methods.

Today, our capabilities extend beyond the IBC itself. We engineer complete systems around the process, including filling, discharge, dosing, blending, formulation, conveying, screening, washing and drying.

Our Approach

We Start With the Process, Not the Product

Every material behaves differently. Every production environment has different requirements. And every manufacturer has a different definition of efficiency.

That is why we do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our engineers work to understand the material being handled, the required flow characteristics, production volumes, downstream process and cleaning requirements before developing the right system.

  1. Understand the Material

Powders and granular materials behave differently under pressure, movement and discharge. Understanding those characteristics is the starting point for a reliable system.

  2. Understand the Process

The IBC is only one part of the production process. Filling, storage, discharge, dosing, blending and downstream operations need to work together.

  3. Engineer the Solution

We combine Cone Valve Technology, IBC systems, automation and supporting equipment to create a solution around the actual application.

The ISL Difference

Patented Technology at the Heart of Every System

The ISL Cone Valve is more than a discharge valve. It is the technology around which our bulk-solids handling systems are engineered.

Conventional IBC discharge systems commonly rely on Butterfly, Slide Gate or Iris Valves. These approaches can create challenges such as poor flow control, bridging, rat-holing, segregation and product exposure.

Our Cone Valve uses plant air to create a variable and controllable aperture, allowing material flow to be controlled directly from the IBC — a systematic discharge process designed to promote mass flow, minimise segregation and support accurate dosing.

  • Mass Flow

    Promotes a first-in, first-out material flow pattern.

  • Controlled Discharge

A variable aperture provides control over material flow.

  • Containment

Designed to maintain a controlled and contained transfer environment.

  • Accurate Dosing

Supports batch and continuous dosing applications.

  • In-Bin Blending

Allows materials to be blended directly within the IBC.

  • Easy Maintenance

A simplified component design supports faster cleaning and maintenance.

Engineering Capability

More Than an IBC Manufacturer

A successful bulk-solids process requires more than a container and a valve.

ISL Technologies has the engineering capability to design complete IBC systems and integrate the supporting equipment required around them — from initial material intake to the final process stage.

Application Expertise

Because Every Material Behaves Differently

From fine powders to granular products, the behaviour of the material determines how it needs to be stored, moved, discharged and processed.

ISL Technologies works across a broad range of bulk-solid applications:

  • Fine Powders
  • Granules
  • Abrasives
  • Fragile Materials
  • Tablets
  • Sterile Materials
  • Blended Materials

The original presentation identifies pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, fine powders, granules, abrasives, fragile and sterile materials among the applications for Cone Valve Technology.

Whether the challenge is flow, segregation, containment, dosing, cleaning or batch flexibility, our approach begins with understanding the material and the process around it.
