Intermediate Bulk Containers for Powder & Bulk Solid Handling

Store. Transport. Weigh. Blend. Process.

ISL Technologies' Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) are designed for the storage, transport and in-process handling of powders, granules and pellets.

More than a container for bulk materials, an ISL IBC can become an identifiable batch production vessel — supporting weighing, batching, blending, traceability and controlled material handling.

  • Stainless Steel — Blending

    650 L – 3000 L

  • Stainless Steel — Non-Blending

    500 L – 3000 L

  • Polyethylene — Square

    750 L – 2000 L

One IBC · Multiple Possibilities

Designed Around How You Handle Bulk Materials

An IBC can connect multiple stages of your production process — from material storage and transportation to weighing, batching, blending and downstream processing.

Storage

Hold powders, granules and pellets in a dedicated bulk container between process stages.

Transport

Move materials between production areas using the integrated support structure and two-way fork truck access.

Weighing

Use the IBC as part of weighing and batching operations where controlled quantities are required.

Blending

The stainless steel blending configuration can be used for in-bin blending applications.

Batch Handling

Use individual IBCs as identifiable batch vessels to support organized production and traceability.

In-Process Handling

Keep material within the IBC as it moves between different stages of the manufacturing process.

Choose the Right IBC

Three Configurations. Different Processing Requirements.

ISL offers three core IBC configurations to suit different bulk material handling needs.

Materials

Designed for Powders, Granules & Pellets

The suitability of a specific IBC configuration depends on the material characteristics and process requirements.

Powders

Suitable for bulk powder handling where controlled storage, transport and process integration are required.

Granules

A dedicated vessel for moving and handling granular materials between process stages.

Pellets

Support bulk handling of pelletized materials within the production process.

Stainless Steel IBCs

Built for demanding process environments across Food, Pharma, Chemical & Others. Available grades depending on the specified component:

  • SS 304
  • SS 316 / 316L
  • Polypropylene
  • Silicone
  • HDPE

The datasheets specify food-grade and FDA-compliant elastomers.

Note: this refers to the elastomers identified in the datasheets and is not an FDA-compliance claim for the complete IBC.

Polyethylene IBCs

A flexible option using a polyethylene bin for storage, transport and in-process handling.

Natural / coloured / black conductive PP
Non-contact parts
Galvanized mild steel · SS 304
Elastomers
PE · PP · NBR · Silicone · HDPE

The datasheet specifies the elastomers as food grade and FDA-compliant.

Built for Movement

Designed With Practical Material Handling in Mind

Every IBC configuration incorporates a support structure designed to facilitate handling and movement within the production environment.

Two-Way Fork Truck Access

The support structure allows access for two-way fork truck transport.

Stacking Options

Stacking pads or support beams can allow IBCs to be double-stacked, depending on configuration.

Dedicated Batch Vessel

Each IBC can be individually identified, supporting batch handling and inventory management.

Flexible Placement

IBCs can move between process stages rather than remaining permanently fixed to one location.

Accessories & Identification

Configure the IBC Around Your Handling Requirements

ISL provides optional accessories that can improve handling, identification and storage.

Stacking Pads

Support beams designed to allow the IBC to be double-stacked.

Lid Holder

A dedicated slot on the side of the IBC holds the lid while material is being filled.

Identification Plates

Help identify individual IBCs and support inventory management.

RFID & Barcode

RFID and barcode systems can be implemented for identification and tracking.

Lid Clamp

An optional stainless steel clamp secures the lid and helps prevent tampering.

Cone Valve Lock

Available on the SS Blending IBC, it secures the Cone Valve during blending to prevent leakage.

IBC + Cone Valve Technology

Connect Your Container to a Controlled Discharge System

Where controlled discharge, dosing or blending is required, the IBC can be integrated with ISL's patented Cone Valve Technology and related process equipment.

  4. 04Dosing / Blending
  5. 05Downstream Process

The IBC acts as the physical connection between material storage and the production process.

From Container to Complete System

Build the Handling System Around Your IBC

ISL Technologies can integrate IBC containers with other bulk solids handling systems, depending on the process requirements.

IBC Filling

Transfer material into the IBC.

Weighing & Batching

Use the IBC as part of a controlled batching process.

Discharge & Dosing

Connect the IBC to controlled discharge and dosing equipment.

In-Bin Blending

One vessel. A whole workflow.

Which IBC Is Right for You?

Start With Your Process

Choosing an IBC should begin with how the container will be used.

01

Do you need in-bin blending?

Yes → SS Square Blending IBC. No → SS Square Non-Blending or Poly Square.

02

Do you need stainless steel construction?

Yes → SS Square Blending / Non-Blending. Polyethylene preferred → Poly Square.

03

Do you need pharmaceutical applications?

The supplied datasheets specifically list Pharma for the stainless steel IBC configurations.

04

Do you need batch identification?

All three configurations offer identification plates, with RFID and barcode implementation available.

05

Do you need double-stacking?

SS Blending includes support beams for double-stacking; stacking pads are optional on SS Non-Blending and Poly Square.
